Honda Civic launched In India

in: Auto

Honda_Civic_India.jpgHonda being the leader of the world automobile industry, is also a trend setter for new cars and bikes. With launching of Honda Civic Hybrid in India it has once again proved this fact. Hybrid have been a long awaited change in the automobile industry. Hybrid are next generation revolution in this area. This Hybrid car has all the features of the gasoline cars and is very environment friendly in terms of pollution. Its ex-showroom price is Rs 21.5 lakh. IT was first developed in 1999, the Civic Hybrid has sold over 2,60,000 units across the world. India is 33rd country where Honda launched there Hybrid car.

“This is yet another step to strengthen Honda’s presence in India in line with our long term goal of bringing eco friendly vehicles,” Honda Siel Car India President and CEO Masahiro Takedagawa

The car is available in premium perl white. The car is powered by a 1.3 litre petrol engine and electric motor. The car runs on iVTEC engine which produced Max power of 95 PS @ 6000 rpm. The only concern is that the hybrid car is available in India at a very high price as the import duty is more than 100%. In my opinion the Indian Government should subsidize such eco-friendly cars. I am hopeful that the Indian government will soon lower the import duty on these eco-friendly hybrid cars. There are number of reasons why should one by hybrid rather then normal gasoline cars which I will discuss later. I think if we are cautious about are nature they we should go for hybrids.
