Last year, Bangalore International Airport was renamed as Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) and relocated to 4 km south of Devanahalli, which is around 40 km from central Bangalore. It replaced the old HAL Bangalore International Airport. Now all the bangalore flights operate from this new international airport in Devanahalli. Even though Bangalore International Airport is world class with all the facilities, reaching the new airport from Bangalore city is very difficult and time taking due to its distance from Bangalore. However, BIA has arranged three types of transport facilities to reach the Bangalore international airport.
1) Airport shuttle service — BMTC operate VOLVO and non AC buses to Airport from different parts of the Bangalore city. Volvo based Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) Services, also known as Vayu Vajra, offer high-end air-conditioned comfort to passengers in an effort to wean them away from personalized modes of travel. The service is available round the clock, providing seamless connectivity between important areas of the city and BIAL. The main routes are

The Volvo buses have public address system, LCD panel showing real-time route information such as en-route pick up points, distance, travel time apart from entertainment videos, internet connectivity, mobile charger, newspapers and helper facility for luggage handling.
