Sachin Tendulkar and RBS Commercial

Sachin-RBS.jpgSachin Tendulkar is the most successful batsman in the history of World Cricket with more than 12000 runs and 40 centuries in test cricket. In one dayers also Sachin is at the peak with more than 16000 runs and 42 centuries. Whereas RBS, the Royal Bank of Scotland Group is a banking and insurance company in the United Kingdom based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It includes The Royal Bank of Scotland founded in 1727 by a Royal Charter of King George I, National Westminster Bank in Great Britain and Ulster Bank Limited in Ireland. RBS Group is the largest banking group in Scotland, and second largest in the UK and Europe (fifth in stock market value), and the fifth largest in the world by market capitalization. According to Forbes Global, it is the tenth largest company in the world.

But what is the relationship between Sachin and RBS? Actually last month, Sachin became the brand ambassador of RBS in India. He joined an elite team of RBS ambassadors that includes golfing great Jack Nicklaus, Formula One champion Sir Jackie Stewart, as well as some of today’s brightest stars such as golfers Luke Donald and Paula Creamer.

John McCormick, Chief Executive, Asia Pacific RBS Global Banking and Markets said, “Every now and again, a player appears on the scene who will change the way the game is played. We are extremely excited that Sachin Tendulkar has agreed to become an RBS ambassador. As one of the world’s true sporting legends with fans across the globe, Sachin is the perfect ambassador for RBS. He represents everything we admire in sport – focus, determination and achievement.

He also said “RBS has had a presence in India since 2002. We recognize the significant growth potential in India and are working closely with the Indian regulators to integrate the ABN AMRO businesses we acquired.” As an RBS ambassador Sachin will help raise awareness of the RBS brand across the Asia Pacific region as the face of RBS through a series of corporate advertising campaigns. So the aim of the campaign is to establish the brand name of RBS in India.
