Welcome to the world of Cricket

in: Cricket

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 matches will begin from Tuesday in West Indies. The biggest cricket tournament ever happened, with a total of 16 teams contesting 51 matches, over a period of 47 days. Millions of cricket fans worldwide will be getting hooked to live telecast on television, match video recordings, ball by ball commentary on radio etc. As far as the indian team is concerned I think our selectors have picked the best possible team and we certainly expect each of them to stand up and deliver their best output. India has a good chance of winning the world cup as it has plenty of young talented players supported by giants like sachin, dravid, ganguly………….

Indians lack self belief in winning finals and winning the world cup needs mental toughness and self belief which in my opinion is a real concern for indian team. It is my Patriotism which inspires me to write in support of Indian cricket team :-)  Our spin pair of kumble and bhajji will be crucial on the pitches of carribeans. Sehwag will have to prove himself on the fast pitches and his performance will be a matter of concern for coach chappell.

By the way The top 8 teams for the world cup are

Australia
Players to watch: bowler Mitchell Johnson and Michael Clarke, useful with bat and ball Coach: John Buchanan, on his last mission Betting: 9-4

England
Players to watch: Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff, two big-stage performers Coach: Duncan Fletcher Betting: 8-1

India
Players to watch: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who averages more than one six per innings, and livewire new-ball bowler Sreesanth Coach: Greg Chappell Betting: 7-1

New Zealand
Players to watch:young batsman Ross Taylor and fast bowler Shane Bond, who averages a wicket every 27 balls Coach: John Bracewell Betting: 8-1

Pakistan
Players to watch: Mohammad Hafeez, an opener, off-spinner and athlete in the field, and the never-dull Shahid Afridi Coach: Bob Woolmer, in probably the last assignment of his three-year reign Betting: 10-1

South Africa
Players to watch: awesome hitter Justin Kemp and Shaun Pollock, in the form of his life in the past six months Coach: Mickey Arthur Betting: 4-1

Sri Lanka
Players to watch: the evergreen Sanath Jayasuriya, still explosive out of the blocks, and the dangerously unconventional Lasith Malinga Coach: Tom Moody Betting: 13-2

West Indies
Players to watch: Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo, two of the most gifted one-day allrounders in world cricket Coach:Bennett King Betting: 7-1
