Congress is heading towards Majority, BJP concedes defeat

Leads: UPA(Congress Party): 253, NDA(BJP): 162, 3rd Front: 83, Oth: 45. So this is the status of Indian General Elections at 3:06pm Saturday (IST). The verdict of Indians seems to be pretty clear this time. And the verdict is stable, strong and independent Government. The Indian business community is happy to see that Left front will have no role in government formation. They have performed very poorly both in West Bengal and Kerala. In recent developments, Rajnath Singh has resigned as BJP president. Last time in 2004 BJP won 138 seats but this time its performance is very disappointing. BJP fans are shocked to see the election results. Just four hours after the millions of votes polled in the April-May election began to be counted, the results became clear, thanks to Electronic Voting Machines, and the BJP reluctantly conceded defeat while the Congress said the people’s mandate was for a stable and strong government.
