There are 32 teams in this World Cup, which are divided into 8 groups, each group contains 4 teams. Last World Cup Football was held in Germany in 2006 in which Italy defeated France 5-3 in a penalty shootout in the final, after extra time had finished in a 1-1 draw.

The official mascot for the 2010 FIFA World Cup is Zakumi, an anthropomorphised leopard with green hair. His name comes from “ZA”, the international abbreviation for South Africa, and “kumi”, a word that means “ten” in various African languages.
