Google co-founder will travel in space

in: Google

Sergey_Brin.JPGSo this is a hot news on internet. There is a company called Space Adventures Ltd. which sends tourists (rich) into space through Russian rockets. This company has announced that Google co-founder Sergey Brin had paid $5 million to reserve a seat for the space tour. Space Adventures Ltd. has already sent five wealthy clients to the International Space Station since 2001, using Russian Soyuz spacecraft. Sergey said “I am a big believer in the exploration and commercial development of the space frontier, and am looking forward to the possibility of going into space,” Brin currently holds the position of President of Technology at Google and has a net worth estimated at $18.5 billion as of March 9, 2007, making him the 26th richest person in the world and the 5th richest person in the United States, together with Larry Page.

Brin is Forbes fourth-youngest billionaire in the world. Meanwhile, Google CEO Eric Schmidt didn’t comment on this news, however he said it is a personal matter of Sergey Brin. The company’s sixth customer, Richard Garriott, who is a computer game designer is scheduled to go in Space in the month of October. Richard paid $35 million for this seat. What do you feel about the idea of Space Tourism ? I think, now in this world everything is possible with the help of money. On one hand Mukesh Ambani is making 2 billion $ home, Sergey Brin is planning for his space trip on the other. It’s all money game.
