Google Page Rank losing its importance

in: Google

PageRank_Google.gifIn march 2008, abhisays.com has PR of 4 then it got reduced to 3 and now to 2 in recent Google’s PR update. I am surprised why Google has slapped my blog again? :-( From other bloggers I came to know that Google is now looking for phrases such as PPP, PayPerPost, ReviewMe, sponsored reviews etc. in the text of your post and if they find these keywords they are decreasing the PR of that page. So most of the bloggers are suggesting not to use such keywords. Now we can say that Google Page Rank has nothing to do with blog traffic, importance, relevance. It has become the Google’s monopolistic symbol on internet search and online advertising. But all these rules and regulations are for less popular or medium blogger. Many high profile bloggers, most of them are from silicon valley, aren’t being penalized in the same way. They also write paid reviews.

If Google continue to follow such discrimination, the day will come when it will become history. I request the blogging community that Google Page Rank is no longer the measure of importance of the web page. Now this page rank from google has become just a number for me. I don’t care about it as PageRank has lost its importance over the past few months. Great blogs and sites have low PageRank, while scraper sites or brand new blogs with very less number of visitors and negligible back links have higher ranks.
