Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is not only one of the largest steel makers in India but also one of India’s fastest growing companies. Its turnover is around 50k crore, the company is among the top five highest profit earning copanies of India. It is a public sector undertaking wholly owned by Indian Government. This company was incorporated on January 24, 1973. It has around 132k employees. The company’s current chairman and managing director (CMD) is S.K. Roongta. With an annual production of 13.5 million metric tons, SAIL is the 16th largest steel producer in the world. SAIL Plants are located at Bhilai, Bokaro, Durgapur, Rourkela, Burnpur (near Asansol) and Salem. It has invited applications for the posts of Management Trainees.

Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Chemical, Electronics & Telecommunications, Instrumentation, Civil, Ceramics and Computer Science from a recognized University/ Institute with minimum 65% marks in aggregate of all years/semesters (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates). For Computer Science discipline, those having recognised Master’s Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) (3-year course) with minimum 65% marks in the aggregate (50% in aggregate for SC/ST candidates) are also eligible.

Maximum Age :: 30 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 10 years for Physically Handicapped candidates.

Pay-Scale :: Rs.10750- 4% -16750/- (E-1 grade)

Selection Procedure : Eligible candidates will be required to appear for objective type written examination in July, 2009 followed by Interview/ GD.

Fee : Fee to be deposited by Pay-in-slip in any branch of State Bank of India account No. 30767176945) at CAG Branch, New Delhi, on behalf of SAIL. You have to also pay Rs.25 extra for bank Charges.

How to Apply : Eligible and interested candidates would be required to apply online only through SAIL’s website. The online registration site would be open from 9th May, 2009 to 30th June, 2009.

After applying online, candidate is required to download the system generated Registration Slip with unique registration number and other essential details with space for passport size photograph & signature. This is to be sent, by Ordinary post to this address.
