can anyone tell me where the bottom picture is in ireland?
It looks like the Gap of Dunloe which is located in The Southwest of Ireland in County Kerry, west of Killarney.
Last September, after having spent 2.5 weeks on the continent, our last port of call was to be Dublin. I was looking forward to it, having never been there and having heard such wonderful reports about it.
We flew in from Karlsruhe via Ryanair, arrived in Dublin about 11:30PM. We got a cab to take us to our hotel. He drove and drove and finally, when we arrived, he charged us 36 Euros. My husband gave him another 4 Euros as a tip. Upon leaving for the airport a few days later, our cabfare was 18 Euros. The first taxi driver had doubled our fare.
While in Dublin, I found the people, by and large, like the weather, cold and rude. The city is drab and dirty, the food drab and tasteless. On one occasion, while approaching a couple of young men and asking for directions, they gave us directions and then demanded we pay them 1 Euro for their advice.
True, we did not drink ourselves silly at Temple Bar, nor did we visit the countryside. We did visit the tourist sites like Christ Church, etc.
At Dublin airport the day we left, I had occasion to use the rest room. Although I had a camera with me, out of shock and disgust, I forgot to take a picture of the incredibly dirty – filthy toilets but the picture will never leave my memory bank. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough.
Understand, we had spent the most incredible and glorious vacation in Slovenia and Austria. People were hospitable, friendly, warm. The streets were clean, the people well attired. I could go on and on about it.
And then came Ireland.
I despise Ireland and the Irish with a passion. It’s a shame I live in Ireland and am Irish myself.
erika’s experience in Dublin is my everyday experience of Ireland. Going to Austria is a holiday in so many different ways.
I like Irland, will visit when I will free
