Today I am going to ask one simple question. Who are the real World Heroes? Heroes are a breed apart. They defy the given. They challenge the equilibrium. They subvert the paradigm. If you feel that “Success comes with experience” then see the example of Sachin Tendulkar. He became one of the top batsmen of world cricket when his age was only 17. Many industry experts say that “Only those with family money ever become rich”. But we have examples of Dhirubhai Ambani, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs etc who became richest, they neither had any business background nor support of family money. One more myth is there that “People should retire at 60”. Take the case of Amitabh Bachchan. He became the youth icon at the age of 60. Now he is 65 and still he is highest paid film actor in Hindi Film Industry. Our experience parents always say “To go places in the corporate world first get an education, get MBA degree”
A top degree is not as important as having the right aptitude, attitude, determination and clear vision. We have Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Michael Dell , Dhirubhai Ambani, they all were college dropouts. But in the end they were at the top positions in some of the biggest companies of the world. So the real heroes are those who charted new paths for others to follow, they never followed others’ path. What defines a hero? Actually I see and meet heroes each and every day of my life. People who for the sake of love, vfaith and family go through thick and thin and remain loyal even when faced with so many opportunities to bail out. They remain committed to the cause which they set out on cope with financial hardship, family ( in law ) interference,sickness, infidelity from their partner, but they believe in the family and plod on never regretting one moment – they are living role models which we would all do well to follow instead of following empty and hollow paths which ultimatly may fill out pockets but empty our hearts – at the end of the day these are the real heroes of this world.
