WordPress 2.2.1 is now available for free download. According to Ryan, it is a bug fix release for the WordPress 2.2 which was released about a month ago. You can read the full list of bugs fixed in 2.2.1. It is not only a bug-fix release but also there were some security issues that came into light while its developement. Those security issues were Remote shell injection in PHPMailer, Remote SQL injection in XML-RPC, Unescaped attribute in default theme. So dear readers, if you are using any version of WordPress older than 2.2.1, download the new version now.
