India has entered the medals tally with a Gold medal, thanks to Abhinav Bindra. Today Abhinav Bindra has won India’s first ever individual Olympic gold medal with a sensational victory in the men’s 10m air rifle. Bindra was on fourth position after qualifying round but in final round he showed his real talent and hit perfect 10.8 on his last shot. Before this gold, India had won 8 gold medals in Olympics hockey but it has never won any individual gold medals. This is the very first time any Indian won a gold medal in an individual event. Last time, India won an Olympic gold medal in 1980 Moscow Olympics games in men’s hockey.
