Happy Birthday Sachin

sachin.jpgToday Sachin has reached another landmark, now he is 35 years old. But still his age is less than the number of centuries, he scored in Test matches. Everybody knows Sachin so I don’t want to waste my words by describing his big list of world records. According to cricket experts and analysts, Sachin is one of the greatest batsman in the world cricket. He is famous by his nicknames like ‘The Little Master’ or ‘The Master Blaster’. He is not only a great player but a great human being also. We may have to wait for decades to see another Sachin Tendulkar. You may have heard the famous saying  “Cricket is religion and Sachin is God”. Yeah, Sachin has become a living legend. He is naturally and exceptionally talented, affectionate, smiling. This is the reason why he is still free from any controversy. On Cricket ground he is disciplined, co-operative, naturally talented and 100 % dedicated to his role in the Indian team. Very few people know that Sachin sponsors 200 underprivileged children every year through Apnalaya (it is a NGO in Mumbai) but he never likes to speak about his charitable activities.

When he was school student, he was involved in 664-run partnership in a Harris Shield game in 1988 with friend and team mate Vinod Kambli. It was World record at that time. I started watching cricket in 1989 when India was in Pakistan for four test matches series. Fortunately for me, It was sachin’s debut in Test cricket. At time he was only 16 years old. He was then called as the baby of India team by Pakistani players. Still he managed to play some really nice innings and soon Pakistani team realized that the baby going to become the giant of world cricket.

Sir Don Bradman considered Sachin to have a batting style almost similar to his. Even if we compare Sachin’s performances with that of Bradman we will find many a things similar in their technique, compactness and shot production. In 2002, Wisden rated him as the second greatest Test batsman after Sir Donald Bradman, and the greatest One-day international batsman.

Some critics feel that Sachin always play for his records. But I am not agree with such comments. I know the reason tendulkar.jpgfor such criticism. Whenever Sachin plays well, India wins as everything becomes very easy for the team and whenever Sachin fails, we get defeated and everybody starts saying that Sachin is responsible, he does not play to his potential, blah blah. For those critics, I will recommend them to analyse his career properly and then comment anything. I have seen him getting out between 90 to 100 while trying to increase the run rate of team. How many batsmen play like that ?

His cricket career is full of world records. He is one of the three batsmen to surpass 11,000 runs in Test cricket. He has scored more than 16,000 run in One day Cricket. He is the only cricketer to receive the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, India’s highest sporting honour In 2003 world cup, Sachin made 673 runs in 11 matches and with the help of this great effort, India managed to reach the finals. Sachin is the only player who has scored more than 27000 runs in International Cricket. If I continue to discuss all his records then it will take months to complete this article. So Sachin keep playing and show use some of the finest Cricket. Have a wonderful birthday!
