I am very not very sure whether I should write such article or not but I could not restrain myself in writing when I was read about our Honorable finance minster decisions, current inflation rate and price rise in the country. During his earlier tenure from June 1, 1996 and held the post till March 18, 1998, the average inflation’s rate was some where around 5 to 6 percent and during the tenure of NDA government this table gives a clear picture.The following table shows the rate of India annual inflation in recent years. In this table, we can clearly see that there is huge difference in the inflation rates now and then. So the picture is clear where we are heading towards. Why is it so have we ever thought that the two governments have dealt same things differently ? I am here not in favour of the NDA Government. It was proclaimed that NDA was not the government for the poor and UPA is favoring poor. But I can see it reverse, in today’s scenario its worst.

I think our Honorable minster need to revisit his principles are what he suppose to do and what he is doing. The following decisions were responsible for price rise in the country. The Government decision of giving Rs 4-lakh crore subsidy on oil, fertilizers was a big mistake. Actually It was a political stunt before the General Elections whereas the opposition thinks that oil companies must be free to regulate prices any unanticipated rise in prices should be cross-subsidized in the budget and also moderated by the government through cuts in excise duty. The finance minister, P Chidambaram is the man behind such decisions. I am not an economist, I am just expressing my thoughts and ideas over this sudden price rise in India. This is what I feel. I don’t know whether it is right or wrong. I am not saying that there UPA government hasn’t done anything for India but thing could have been done in better way.
