This week all major international newspapers are flooded with the news of Obama’s Beer Party. Actually the US President Barack Obama invited Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., and Sgt. James Crowley of the Cambridge Police Department to join him at the beer party in White House. The main aim of this beer party was to help patch things up between Professor Gates and Sgt. Crowley. On July 16, 2009, Prof. Gates returned home from a trip to China to find the door to his house jammed. His driver attempted to help him gain entrance. Responding to a report of a possible break-in, a Cambridge police officer arrested Gates and charged him with disorderly conduct after a confrontation. Prosecutors later dropped the charges. The incident spurred the racial tension throughout the United States. To settle this racial tension, President Obama called both men on Friday, July 24th, and invited them to come to the White House to discuss the situation during the Beer Party. Professor Gates accepted the offer to meet with Sgt. Crowley and President Obama at the White House.

What I feel that Barack Obama has taken the right decision to settle down the tension between the Police Officer and the Professor. He’s always had the ability to negotiate difficult conversations, and his Beer Party is its perfect example. As a president of United States of America, Barack Obamas has cleared one more his assessment, which makes a lot of sense, and, however you feel about it, it has reduced the temperature and allowed everyone to move forward in a constructive way.
