Stefania Fernandez has become the new Miss Universe. At the 58th Miss Universe pageant held at the Atlantis Paradise Island, in Nassau, Bahamas, she made history when she was crowned by Miss Universe 2008, who is also from the same country, Venezuela. 83 beauty queens competed for this title. The grand final took place at the Imperial Ballroom, in the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort. The live telecast of the Miss Universe contest was hosted by Access Hollywood, Billy Bush and Miss Rhode Island USA 1997, Claudia Jordan. Heidi Montag did the Fashion Shoot Presentation, which was followed by Flo Rida’s Swimsuit Competition, whereas the Evening Gown Competition set by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland.

She was dressed in a flowing red gown. After the declaration of final results, she received the glittering crown costing 120,000 dollars from last year’s winner, Dayana Mendoza. Besides winning the Miss Universe crown she also received a tiara designed by Diamond Nexus Labs, a two-year scholarship from the New York Film Academy worth more than $100,000, an evening wear wardrobe from Carlos Alberto, a shoe collection from Nina Footwear, a six-day/five-night vacation for two at Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas, access to an event wardrobe from leading fashion designers, a New York City apartment for the year of her reign including living expenses among other gifts.

She was born on September 4, 1990 in Merida, Merida State, Venezuela. She won the Miss Venezuela 2008 title in a pageant held in Caracas. This achievement made her eligible for the Miss Universe contest. Playing tennis and swimming are her hobbies.
