Orkut should be banned !

Recently I read some articles related to misuses of orkut.com, the famous and most popular social networking site powered by google. In one of the cases a guy from Mumbai, made a fake profile of the girl and posted her cell phone number along with lots more details. The profile was sketched in such a way that would draw lewd comments from many who visited her profile. Now, one can easily imagine the turmoil the girl had to go through. Moreover, the anti-social elements are using the community feature to hire people for their gang.
These examples are nothing but the misuse of technology advancements. Even in my college, I find my friends wasting their precious time while browsing the profile of opposite sex on orkut. However, I agree with the fact that it has proved to be a powerful tool for social networking but we can’t ignore its bad impact on the indian socity especially on young generation. I personally feel that orkut.com is nothing but sheer waste of time and should be banned as soon as possible in India. I don’t know whether I am right or wrong, so I invite all your opinions and suggestions on this burning issue.

    friend, u r talking about only 2 example. but u know this is free social networking web. which provide way that u can find u friend of schooling time, collage timeing. u can know about other or his his friend and orkut work as like chain system, just join 1 member and u can access thousend of friend.

    yes, i agree that people misuse this technical advancement.But every thing has good or bad effects.take the example of an human ,hey have bad o gud habbits both.IN yourself there are a lot of bad things .but u don’t leave care abt yourself.In same way,It all depends on us,hw we can use it in right way.Instead of banned orkut ,try to improve urself……

    Ya i think it should be banned, because in orkut people are just wasting their time. Just tell me if some wants to communicate with some one else, then why not use your cell, email. Then why orkut ? Because, in orkut you can do five minute’s work in one haour ? Stupid sense. Another thing, what the hell words are used in the srcap, hardly you will find decency there. Every one is reading the scrap then what sense he will get about the person. Educational institutions should strictly ban such stupid sites. Govt. will not take this matter in it’s hand. We are the people who can stop these things.
