The power of Social Networking

Social_Networking.jpgMost of the internet users in India prefer to spend their time on different social networking websites like Orkut, facebook, ibibo etc. One of my friends say that if you want to become a successful webmaster in India then you have three options, they are job, porn, friendship. In my opinion these social networking websites satisfy two options, porn and friendship. Recently an online advertising network company Tyroo has published a report on internet users of India. The report says that social networking sites account for 44 % of India’s Internet users. In India, orkut.com is the most popular social networking website unlike Myspace which is number 1 in USA. The research was conducted amongst 20 marketers and 400 users of different social networking site.

I believe social networking is the future of internet. We are at present using very negligible power of social networking. According to the report, around 90 per cent of the users log in to their account everyday. More than 75 % of the marketers surveyed said that they would increase their social media spending during the next three years whereas 50 per cent respondents said that social networking sites are the second option after email IDs. Most of the internet experts say that social networking sites are mainly used by teenagers. But the report completely denies this opinion as the report says that most of the users on FaceBook are affluent and well qualified.
