After Ghajini and Raaz, Dev D is rocking the Indian Box Office. The movie earned around Rs.95 million at the opening weekend. ‘Dev D’ is all set to be the second big hit of 2009 after ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’. It released on February 6. It has been written and directed by Anurag Kashyap (who earlier directed ‘No Smoking’). Abhay Deol has played the role of Devdas. Actually, the film is a modern day story based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel Devdas. Even from most of the top critics Dev D has received positive reviews. Times of India has termed the film as a “brilliant breakthrough for Bollywood” and rated it 5/5. Hindustan Times praised the film for its “slick style and adventurous interpretation that pushes the boundaries of Hindi cinema” and rating it as 3.5/5. Its ‘Emotional Atyachar’ song is at top position in most of the music charts and countdown shows. Let’s see its music video.

Story of the movie ::

Dev (Abhay Deol) is the son of a rich Punjabi businessman. He and Paro (Mahi Gill) are childhood friends or better say lovers. However, Dev shuns Paro after he hears rumours of her alleged affairs with other men. Dev goes to Delhi while Paro is married off to a rich widower. In Delhi, Devdas meets the prostitute Chanda (Kalki), who is a shunned by her family after an MMS scandal but despite an apparent emotional connection, remorse drives him to excesses.
