Today I visited the official website of Drona movie. Drona is a fantasy-action film starring Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Jaya Bachchan and Kay Kay Menon. It will be released on October 2, 2008. But this article has nothing to do with this movie. Actually I am talking about the technology used by the site. This website is using Microsoft Silverlight. Microsoft Silverlight is a new programmable web browser plugin that provides features such as animation, vector graphics and audio-video playback that characterize rich internet applications(RIA).
Its major competitors are Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, Adobe Shockwave, and JavaFX. At present the version 2.0 of Silverlight is available in market which is a beta version.The Microsoft engineers are working on its next launch to improve its interactivity and support for .NET programming language and other development tools. By the way it is nice to see use of latest web technologies in Indian websites.

Quality of silverlight looks pale compared to Adobe , I am sure M$ has paid some millions to Eros for using it. For me Adobe rules.
