So Oscar 2008 awards are declared and this time “No Country for Old Men” has bagged four awards including best movie and best director. The oscar night was dominated by a dark violent tale about a psychopathic serial killer. This year, US lost out as the 80th Academy Awards celebrated actors and film-makers from across the globe as most of the winners were from Ireland, Italy, Spain, Austria, France and the UK. With so much quality cinema vying for contention, though, no single film was likely to be a runaway success this is why the maximum number of awards by single film this year is only 4. But where is India in these awards. Selection of “Chak de India” for oscar library is the only good thing that happened for our film industry in this Oscar 2008.
Here are some of the important oscar 2008 awards…

no country for old men is unassumingly clever… tons of unexpected plot twists but thankfully it never goes over the top. dumbfounding form a moral angle, but that can be a good thing.
