Silent romantic movie ‘The Artist’ has won five Oscars awards including best film. Martin Scorsese’s ‘Hugo’ has also collected five of the world’s top movie honors. ‘The Artist,’ a black-and-white story of a fading star who finds redemption through romance in the era when silent movies were overtaken by talkies, added to its best film victory with Oscars for its French star Jean Dujardin and director Michel Hazanavicius, as well for musical score and the costume design. Meryl Streep has won the Oscar for best lead actress for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.
