Today I visited official website of Phoonk, yet another horror movie by Ram Gopal Varma in the banner One More Thought Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. starring Sudeep, Amruta Khanvilkar, Ahsaas Channa and Kenny Desai. It will be released world wide on 22th Aug, 2008. The movie is based on one’s little knowledge and understanding of the life and its various mysteries. The website says that this is a story about black magic. Black magic is a type of magic that draws on malevolent powers. It may be used for malevolent acts or to deliberately cause harm in some way. Black magic is generally invoked to kill, injure, to cause misfortune or destruction, or for personal gain without regard to harmful consequences to others.
Let’s discuss the brief story of the movie. Rajeev, the protagonist is a successful civil Engineer with a beautiful and caring wife, and two children aged 10 and 8. He is an atheist by nature. He has no faith in the identity of God. He always laughs on the people who believe in the dark forces. But one day an evil force destroys his happy life. Finally his convictions towards life changes. How all these series of incidents happens? I think you will love to see in movie theater. While in 21st century it is very difficult to attract greater number of viewers towards a movie based on supernatural happenings.

Ramu says that Phoonk is a very scary film. This movie can plague your entire belief system thereby making you highly vulnerable and will also put you into an emotional state wherein you would start fearing the most inane objects which you would normally take for granted in the daily course of life. As a result the official site has announced a new contest called dare to watch it alone. You will have an empty theater. Total darkness. You will have to watch the scariest movie. On successful completion you will get exciting prizes. I would call this contest just a publicity stunt. By the way, I am eagerly waiting for the release of this movie.

Hi, Wonder why ramu came up with this publicity stunt.Since the reward was announced i was closely following the website and 57333.I even called up one more thought -Azam Khan’s venture,spoke to sanjay mehta-Producer,Neeraj Joshi-Mktg & publicity(Riaz,Azam khan-nt).All didnt have a clue as to how to register for this contest and kept saying that they will let us know.Wonder today i smsed on 57333 and it says contest closed….Was this a publicity stunt…wht abt the registration???….so many guys writing in a mail so many eager to participate…did anyone of you get a call?
