According to latest news from South India box office, Kuselan has been declared a flop movie. Even Rajini is very much shocked with the poor performance of Kuselan. The movie has been released in both tamil and telugu. The film has been publicized heavily as a film starring the South Indian superstar Rajinikanth, but the fact is that he has played only a guest role for about 20 minutes. People are coming in Cinema hall to see Rajinikanth but are found cheated when realize that he is only in small guest role. I think this is the main reason behind the poor performance of Kuselan at box office.

Pyramid Saimira which is the chief distributor of the film, is under high pressure from smaller distributors and theater-owners, they are forcing them to return the money which they lost due to this film, back to them. Rajini is also not happy with these incidents. That is why he came with a rescue plan for film distributors. He told them that he will pay Rs. 10 crores to all the distributors and Cinema theater owners.

Earlier Rajinikanth gave compensation to distributors and theater owners when his movie Baba was flopped in 2003. Such a trend is only there in South India. In Hindi Film industry I haven’t heard about such initiatives. Due to such philanthropic activities, Rajinikanth is one of the most influential and bankable movie stars in the Tamil film industry.
