Three years after the release of “Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero”, one of my favorite directors Shyam Benegal is back with “Welcome to Sajjanpur” starring Shreyas Talpade and Amrita Rao in main roles. Actually this is his first comedy film so all his fans including me are eagerly waiting for the its release. The movie revolves around Mahadev. Shreyas Talpade is playing this role. Mahadev is the only educated man in Sajjanpur and he makes his living by writing letters. According to recent reviews and expert comments, this film is a delightful satirical on Indian village life. The movie will be released on 19th Sept, 2008.

Shyam Benegal is better known as one of the directors who started the trend of art and parallel Cinema in India with movies like Ankur, Nishant, Manthan, Junoon and Bhumika in 1970s. Last year, he was awarded the highest award in Indian cinema for lifetime achievement, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He is the only Indian Director who has won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi seven times.
