Thank God, finally a girl became India Idol. Indian Idol is one of the most popular television shows on Indian television. Basically, it is a singing talent contest to determine the best undiscovered young singer in the country. Sourabhee Debbarama is a girl from Agartala, who beat other 2 finalists Torsha Sarkar and Kapil Thapa to become the winner of Indian Idol 4. Before this series, all the winners of Indian Idol namely Abhijeet Sawant, Sandeep Acharya, and Amit Paul were male. She also won a contract of Rs. 1 crore with Sony Entertainment Television and a TATA Winger. She is a petite, cute and charismatic who adds glamor to any stage performance with her perfect moves and great voice- a plus point she has had since the beginning of the show. Interestingly, she has never got any professional training in music. Now, she has become a household name not only in her state Tripura but all over India. People of Tripura are very happy that their talent has been recognized on a bigger platform like Indian Idol. Indian Idol has finally got its first ‘Female Winner’ in Sourabhee Debbarma.
