Now a days everyone is talking about A R Rahman. He recently won double oscar for his music direction in the movie Slumdog Millionaire. For the first time, the whole world is interested in knowing more about the Indian music directors. So I have decided to start “best of” series on Indian music directors where I will list out their best musical scores and songs. Today I will start the series with famous music director pair Kalyanji Anandji. This name comes from first names of the two Gujarati brothers that formed the duo, Kalyanji Virji Shah and Anandji Virji Shah. Both Kalyanji and Anandji worked as music composers for over 400 films, 17 of which were Golden Jubilees, and 39 Silver Jubilees.
