A brand new Digital Camera for abhisays

Lumix_panasonic_LS70.jpgToday I have purchased a brand new digital camera, Lumix Panasonic DMC LS70. After searching and analyzing a good number of digital cameras, finally I settle for this model of Panasonic. I paid 6,900 rupees (around 165 $) for this camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS70 is a thick-bodied digital camera with a 1/2.5-inch 7.2 megapixel CCD. It has a 3x optical zoom lens supported with 2-inch LCD screen. It has 18 preset shooting modes, a Simple Shooting mode, and a Motion Picture mode. There is no facility for audio recording. The Motion Picture mode is also superb. It is able to shoot 16:9 video files at a reduced 848 x 480 resolution. It includes complete manual control over image settings like exposure compensation, white balance, a handful of shutter speed settings in Starry Sky mode, and ISO.

Other salient features of this camera are :

  • Easy Zoom: You can shift the lens instantly to full 3x zoom power at the touch of a button. There is also extra Optical Zoom which provides additional magnification, extending the zoom power to 4.5x by using the center part of the CCD.
  • You can easily access and set the functions used most often.
  • There is Date Stamp feature which you can simply stamp the date on photos, stamp the day of a trip or event on the photos, and stamp the child’s age in months on the image itself.
  • This camera can record standard VGA (640 x 480) motion images at 30 frames per second, and wide-aspect VGA (848 x 480) motion images at 30 frames per second.
  • Also I have extended its memory by adding external memory card of 512 MB.

I have bought this camera from an eletronics shop in front of Forum Mall in Bangalore. I also enquired its prices in ezone at Koramangala. But there prices were around 1000 rupees more as compared to the normal price. eZone is a big show room for Electronics gadgets in Koramangala, Banglore. It is part of Future Group which owns Big Bazaar and Food Bazaar malls in metro-politan cities of India. But in my opinion the eZone shop is highly money minded. They charge 10-20% higher prices on electronics goods. This is almost robbery. If you are living in Bangalore, then I will suggest you to never visit this mall. I am still wondering, why they charge so high prices for electronic goods. But in the end, I got the Digital Camera from the right place.

This new digital camera is dedicated to my blog abhisays as I have decided to start photo-blogging. Photography has always been a hobby for me but now I want to use this skill to add some new features to my blog. Now you will see some new and amazing snaps on my blog, completely original. If you have any idea or opinion about the feel free to post your thoughts and ideas about photoblogging and top photobloggers of the blogosphere.
