Google or Microsoft who is thief ?

Microsoft executive Tom Rubin will use a speech to the American Association of Publishers, which is suing Google, to slag off the search engine’s attitude to copyright.

I read this news yesterday on some news website. Rubin also accused Google of taking a unilateralist approach to copyright in regard to its Google Books project, which is digitising books from several sources.

However, Microsoft’s product MSN Books Search is doing the same thing for the British Library. This is just like one thief accusing other thief : ) . On Google’s YouTube, Rubin claimed early every major movie and TV company is deeply concerned about copyright infringements on the site.
I am surprised how Mr. Rubin is accusing youtube when Microsoft’s version of YouTube, called Soapbox, which went into public beta last month is facing same copyright problems.
In this world of globalisation and technological advancement, I don’t thing these giants should waste time on accusing each other on these small issues.
One thing I would like to add, during exam time most of the guys in our college use scanner and get soft copies of costly technical books. I think this is not any copyright issue, but is gift of modern technology that empowers us to save our money by using these electronic gadgets.
