iPhone or N96 which is better?

n96-iphone.jpgBoth iPhone and N96 are out there in Indian market. Which one is better from the point of view of value for money. Let’s compare both the gadgets. As I have already mentioned in one of my articles that Airtel and Vodafone Essar will sell the phone for around 31,000 rupees (712 dollars) for the 8 GB memory model, and 36,100 for the 16 GB model. Most of the Indian customers are not happy with this huge price of Apple iPhones. This is almost 3 times higher than the price of iPhone in USA. Initially Nokia has plans to launch N-96 in October but due to competition from iPhone, it was forced to go for early release of N-96. The expected price of N-96 will be around 30,000 rupees. So from point of view of cost, both are almost same.

So the million dollar question is which one of them dominate the Indian market? Both have 3G features. But with respect to data transfer speed N96 is better where downloading is possible with the speed of 3.6 Mbps whereas in iPhone the maximum downloading speed is only 1.8 Mbps. N96 has 5 megapixels camera whereas iPhone has only 2 MP camera. If you compare their screens then I would prefer iPhone as its screen it 3.5 inches with resolution of 480X320. N96 screen is 2.8 inches and its resolution is only 240X320.

On one hand there is value for money in N96 while iPhone has brand name associated with it so at this moment it is very difficult to predict their future. Let’s see what happens, everything is now in hands of Indian consumers.
