How to transfer domain name?

Domain-Transfer.jpgRecently I have transferred a domain name from publicdomainregistry.com to godaddy.com in just 5 working days. Actually I registered this domain name through candidinfo.com 2 years back. There are many websites in India who does the business of domain registration. For my domain dreamplacement.com candidinfo.com did the registration through publicdomainregistry.com and charged me some extra money. Now this time when I was to renew my domain name I decided to transfer it from the present registrar to godaddy.com. Today I will discuss the steps that we need to follow to transfer a domain name from one registrar to another.

Let’s see what is a Domain name Registrar?

A domain name registrar is a company authorized by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and/or by a national ccTLD authority to register Internet domain names. These “retail” companies are often distinct from the “wholesale” domain name registry operator. When a registrar registers a .com domain name for the end-user, it must pay a maximum annual fee of US$6.42 to VeriSign and a US$0.20 administration fee to ICANN. VeriSign is the registry manager for .com gTLD. Most domain registrars price their services and products to address both the annual fees and the administration fees that must be paid to ICANN.

In order to start the process to transfer of your domain, you need to have domain already under your ownership and a registrar that you want to transfer that domain to.

These are the steps I followed to transfer the domain name from one registrar to another.

step 1: Visit Godaddy Here you will also get one year free renewal.

step 2: Enter the domain(s) name you want to transfer in the field and click next button.

step 3: Just read the instruction and act accordingly. Once you do the required payment you will be asked to enter the proof of you being the domain owner. In my case I have some secret key which I can change. That key needs to be submitted in your godaddy account.

step 4: After proper submission, the godaddy team will send the email to the current registrar for domain transfer.

step 5: Then the current registrar will send the email to you for you confirmation.

step 6: After your confirmation, the process of transfer starts between the two registrars.

So got it, it is very simple to transfer the domain name. If you still have any doubt then feel free to contact me, I will try to solve your query.
