Yesterday, YouTube has launched its Indian version, www.youtube.co.in. Its look and feel is same as that of original YouTube site but it is now featuring regional and localized content with the search which is concentrating more on videos and links related to India. Also the featured videos, videos tab and community tab are now showing videos for the Indian users. YouTube India has already signed in for partnerships with big giants such as Eros Entertainment, Rajshri Films, IIFA, Ministry of Tourism, IIT Delhi, NDTV, UTV, Zoom TV, India TV, Krishcricket, etc. to avoid copyright violations.
They are also trying to prevent copying and reloading of the same content, thus curbing piracy. India is in the top 15 countries for YouTube with 5 million unique Indian users. Rajshri Media Productions is going to launch a 90 minute video series on Vikram aur Vetaal on YouTube. According to the Google CEO Eric Schmidt, YouTube is planning to introduce a series of new products to generate more advertising revenue and the main aim of YouTube India to generate money from partners, search related advertising and in-video advertisements. This would also help its partners to open and earn new revenue streams with various revenue sharing models. YouTube is currently not profitable, with its revenues being noted as “immaterial” by Google. I am regular visitor of YouTube and my abhisays video module is using APIs of YouTube. This launch will definitely make searching Indian videos on YouTube for me.

in.youtube.com youtube.in youtube.co.in webpage appeared early morning on 07 May 2008. I was delited to find only indian videos listed as Feature Videos. Swati Kothari, Gautam, Shailesh, Sakina - all together organised a grand show at India Habitat Center. Media queries were also answered comprehensively by Shailesh-Sakina duo. What impressed me is the young age. All those on huge Google/YouTube posts can be called young guys and gals with no offence. Manager - International : I thought she is a college student.
Congratulations to YouTube managent.
