Communication using Signs and Signals

Have you ever communicated using signs and signals? No, then you have missed the world’s one of the most powerful medium of communication. So what is a sign, a sign is something which refers to something other than itself. See the danger sign image, where a dog is biting a man. Words and images are all signs (as they always refer to something besides themselves). Behaviors are also termed as signs, as are mental concepts such as metaphors or equations that “stand for” some other reality. Check out the flow diagram given below.
