Last night, I had a wonderful experience of watching “3 Idiots”. The show was houseful and everyone was pretty excited to see the most awaited movie of the year 2009. The movie had created a lot of buzz all over the bollywood before the release as the big names like Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rajkumar Hirani are associated with the movie. 3 Idiots fulfills every promise it had made and entertains the viewers completely with its enlightening content based upon every day real life happenings. Inspired from Chetan Bhagat’s first novel, “Five Point Someone”, it starts with the story of two friends, who are in search of their third room-mate in the engineering college hostel, who actually helped them both in finding their own desired path in life.
The movie has a lot of twists and turns and it keeps shifting between the present & the past. It majorly talks about the days these 3 friends spent together during the study at engineering college. The first half of the movie is full of light and funny moments and the tempo of public is quite up for whole duration. It also has a distinctive Hirani flavor and it is surely to be liked by everyone of any age or gender. The engineering college campus and the in-class shootings in the movie also remind the medical college scenes of Hirani’s “Munnabhai M.B.B.S”. The entertaining first half ends on a mystery note, which gets solved post intermission immediately. Then the story builds on towards the search of the third lost idiot, the role played by Aamir.
Second half has got some dragging moments in between, but it makes a good impact on the viewers with a climax having a pleasant surprise twist. And in the end, the message in the movie leaves everyone with a clapping and a smile. I would like to say that “3 Idiots” is one of the most entertaining movies of 2009 and will be a great success at the box office. Gear up to watch the movie.
