I saw this question in my cousin’s 6th standard book. Surprisingly, when I saw its answer, I was shocked, the answer was Maurice Greene. Actually she was reading 4 years old edition of the book that’s why its answer was not upto date. Now the correct answer to this question is Usain Bolt. Yes, Usain Bolt is the fastest human being on earth. Generally experts decide fastest man on the basis of 100 m race in Olympic Games. 100 m is the shortest outdoor sprint race distance in athletics. The current men’s world record of 9.58 s is held by Usain Bolt of Jamaica. This record was set at the 2009 World Athletics Championships final on 16 August 2009.
The current women’s world record of 10.49 s was set by Florence Griffith-Joyner of the USA, in Indianapolis, Indiana, on 16 July 1988. Jim Hines was the first man to break the 10-second barrier in the 100 m, recording the first sub-10 second, electronically timed run to win the 100 metres at the 1968 Olympics.
