Finally the former Union minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor tied the knot with his Dubai-based fiance Sunanda Pushkar on Sunday. It was a typical Malayali wedding ceremony. The marriage was held in the presence of Tharoor’s 94-year-old grandmother, Jayasankari Amma, Tharoor’s sons and other family members. The function was held at the 200-year-old ancestral home of Tharoor at Elavanchery village near Kollangodu at about 8.30 am on Sunday. During the marriage Tharoor was clad in traditional Malayali attire of kurtha and mundu whereas 48-year-old Sunanda, a Kashmiri dressed in ‘veshti-mundu set’ like any Malayali bride.
