It is shockingly surprising news for me. An official United States report on global governance has declared that India is the third most powerful nation after the United States and China. The report (‘Global Governance 2025’) was issued jointly by the US National Intelligence Council (NIC) and the European Union’s Institute for Security Studies (EUISS). United States is the world’s most powerful country in 2010, accounting for nearly 22 per cent of the global power. It is followed by China (12 per cent), and India (eight per cent). Other powerful nations are Japan, Russia and Brazil with less than five per cent share of global power.
The report has also predicted that by 2025, the United States’ share of global power would decline from 22 per cent to 18 per cent, while China would rise up from 12 per cent to 16 per cent whereas India will remain in third or fourth positions.
But I think that, still even after breakdown, Russia is far superior to India. And what about other powerful nations like UK, France, Germany, Canada etc.
