India’s First Bimetallic Rupees 10 Coin

10 rupee-coin.JPGSo RBI is ready to issue the much awaited bimetallic 10 Rupee coin for circulation.The coin looks cool and light-weight. The obverse side has the lion symbol with numeral 10 and year of manufacture. On reverse side, a double line cross with a dot in each pellet of cross and denomination written in Hindi and English around. This design has been prepared by design experts at National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. The outer side metal is Nickel-Bronze and the inner side metal is Ferrous Steel. The weight of the coin would be 8 grams and the diameter would be 28 mm. A recent press release from Reserve Bank of India mentioned that there will be two themes of Rupees 10 coins, 1) Unity in Diversity and 2) Connectivity and Information technology
