Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India, is India’s largest IT exporter. Almost all the top IT companies have their offices in Bangalore so it has become the first choice for IT professionals in India. No doubt, it is the fastest growing metropolis in India. Every month thousands of computer geeks come to Bangalore for better career opportunities. Some of them come with their vehicles also. So today I will throw some light on how to get Karnataka’s registration for your vehicle which you have brought from other state. It is not necessary to get your vehicle registered here in Karnataka but it is mandatory to pay road-tax here. Hence I will elaborate separately on both the cases. Suppose you are interested in getting Karnataka’s registration then this is the list of documents :
- NOC (No Objection Certificate from the RTO where your vehicle is registered).
- Form 20 ( In case your vehicle is having a loan. This form is issued by the bank from where you have taken the loan).
- Form 22.
- TAX-INVOICE (Original copy is required).
- SALE-DEED of your vehicle.
- Copy of your vehicle insurance.
- Address proof.
- Identity proof like (Licence, Pan -Card etc).
- 4 passport size photograph.
In case you just want to pay the road-tax the documents required are :
- NOC (No Objection Certificate from the RTO where your vehicle is registered).
- Form 20 (Part I and Part II both).
- Form 22.
- RC Book or Registration Card.
- Copy of your vehicle insurance.
- Address proof.
- Identity proof like (Licence, Pan -Card etc).
- Copy of Vehicle’s pollution test .
If you have all these documents then you can either approach a broker or give yourself a try. A very peculiar thing which I came across was the language in which all the RTO documents were printed. The language is Kannada and if you cannot write or understand Kannada then better take a friend along with you who can read and write Kannada.
