DD Metro, erstwhile DD 2 was Doordarshan’s Hindi language general entertainment channel. It was a complete free of cost entertainment channel. On November 3, 2003, the Prasar Bharati Corporation replaced DD Metro channel with their new news channel, DD News. DD Metro was very popular in India due to its daily soaps, comedy serials, reality shows, and others. DD Metro also telecast some of the top Indian television programmes from its sister channel, DD National.
