Indian telecom giant Tata Indicom has announced launch of new, stylish Walky Talky cordless phones. There will be different post paid and pre-paid plans for its fixed wireless phone connection. The price of set will be only 1299 rupees. The set is based on WLL technology with CDMA back-end and can be used anywhere in the city in which the connection has been taken and hence it also offers limited mobility to the user within that city itself. In large cities, each connection has an eight digit phone number and in smaller places it has a seven digit number as opposed to the ten digits for a mobile connection. With this launch, Tata Indicom is expecting rise in its market share in telecom sector. Indicom services are spread across nineteen circles in the country, and the company has a subscriber base of 3.8 million in India.
