Believe me, this is the first step that you should do after losing the cell phone. This is very important. Today Rajya Sabha passed Women’s Reservation Bill by an overwhelming majority to reserve one-third of seats in Lok Sabha and Assemblies for women. The Bill seeks to reserve for women 181 of the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha and 1,370 out of a total of 4,109 seats in the 28 State Assemblies. This reservation shall apply in case of seats reserved for scheduled castes (SCs) and scheduled tribes (STs) as well. The implementatation of this bill will increase the participation of women in politics and society and ultimately create equal opportunities for men and women. It will also give importance to the status of women in Indian society.

CNN has published a list of 25 greatest Asian film actors of all time. The list has actors from India, China, Japan, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Korea. There are five Indian actors in this list. Guru Dutt, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Amitabh Bachchan and Pran have been named in the list of CNN’s top 25 Asian actors of all time. India has highest number of actors in the list. CNN compared Guru Dutt to famous Hollywood director Orson Welles (Citizen Kane) and praised him for movies like Pyasa and Kagaz ke phool. In the Uniod Budget 2010 speech, the finance minister Pranab Mukherjee announced that the Indian rupee will soon join a select league of global currencies by having a distinct symbol. He said “In the ensuing year, we intend to formalise a symbol for the Indian rupee, which reflects and captures the Indian ethos and culture,” He also added “With this, the Indian rupee will join the select club of currencies such as the US dollar, British pound sterling, Euro and Japanese yen that have a clear distinguishing identity”. Today I got the chance to attend Kingfisher IndiBlogger Bangalore Bloggers meet. In the meet, I not only enjoyed chilled Kingfisher beer (3 mugs 🙂 ) but also got chance to meet many good bloggers, webmasters, social media experts. In the meeting blogging and tweeting ideas were flowing like anything. Around 150 bloggers from Banglore attended the meet. The meet held in Kyra Dining hall near 100ft road, Indiranagar. Initially all the bloggers were given chance to speak about their blog and profession. Some of the introductions were boring and most of the introductions were very inspiring and motivating. In the meet, I saw 3 bloggers who were more than 60 years old but seemed more confident, inspiring, passionate and focused towards blogging.

Last month I started a Discussion Zone aka forums on abhisays.com. In one month it has more than 100 users, 1700 posts which is quite satisfactory for a new forum created on a sub-domain. Meanwhile, I also analyzed some of the top forums on internet. In this connection, I got the chance to visit Gaia Online. It is an anime-themed social networking and forums-based website. It was founded in 2003 as Go-Gaia.com, but in 2004 its name was changed to GaiaOnline.com.
