The history of Devaluation of Rupee
On 16th Oct, 2008 I predicted that soon one dollar would become equal to 50 rupees. Just after one week, my prediction became correct. Now one US dollar is around 50 rupees. Now I think it is right time to tell you the history of Indian currency, rupee. The origin of the word “rupee” is found in the Sanskrit word rup or rupyah, which means “wrought silver,” originally “something provided with an image, a coin,” from rupah “shape, likeness, image.” Before independence, India was a land of hundreds of princely states. They used to run their own coins and currency notes.

Dogs also want to study in IIT
While browsing the orkut, I just saw one snap uploaded by some IIT Delhi student. This snaps sarcastically show the problems of dogs roaming inside the college campus. Even sometimes, they enter into the lecture hall. In this snaps IIT Prof Ashok Kr Gupta is taking the class of Thermodynamics. At the same time a dog enters into the lecture hall and the Professor is completely unaware of the dog as he is busy in his lecture. You will definitely love this snap and would also like to share with your friends. Actually this dog always roams near the chemistry department and enter into the class room. Who is the world’s fastest bowler in history of Cricket?
Do you know who is the fastest bowler in history of world Cricket? Recently I have tried to find the answer of this question on internet. I saw several videos, read the achieves of various new papers and magazines and finally got the information that Jeff Thomson and Shoaib Akhtar are considered as the world’s fastest bowlers. Competing in a 1978 fast bowling contest that included many of the leading bowlers in the world, Thomson came first with a delivery clocked at 147.9 km/h, ahead of Michael Holding (141.3 km/h) and Imran Khan (139.7 km/h). In 1975 during a test match, he was timed using high-speed cameras at 160.45 km/h and then the following year he was timed at 160.58 km/h using conventional radar. Australian wicket-keeper Rod Marsh kept wicket to Thomson for most of his Test career and claimed that Thomson bowled upto speed of 180 km/h which is much greater than the present recorded speed on bowling of Shoaib Akhtar. But there is no recorded proof of Thomson bowling at the speed of 180 km/h.
Which are the new IITs of India?
When I was engineering student in NIT Bhopal, there were only 6 IITs in India. Now we have 14 IITs, 7 existing ones, 6 IITs functioning from temporary campuses and 3 are proposed ones. Most of the IITs and NIT’s were created in early 1950’s and 1960’s as the Institutes of national importance through special acts of Indian Parliament. Actually IITs are considered as a factory of great scientists and engineers. Being an IITian is a dream of every science student of India. But only the top brains of India make it to IIT every year through joint entrance examination which is considered as the toughest entrance examination for engineering in world. Almost every Indian state has one NIT, likewise government of India has plans to open at least one IIT for each state.
