Earlier we used to have 100% FDI allowed only in the wholesale (cash & carry) market, 51% FDI allowed in Single brand retailing like Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, etc. However, FDI was not allowed in the Multi-brand retailing like TESCO, Carrefour, and WalMart. Now, we will have 100% FDI allowed in Single brand retailing. This means that now global companies like Adidas, Nike, Tommy Hilfiger will be able to own 100% of their retail businesses in $500 billion Indian Retail Market. Earlier, they had to come with some partner, for example, Nike entered partnering with Sierra Industrial Estate Private Limited and Bridgestone entered in partnership with ACC limited.

The Delhi Police registered the FIR against former IPS officer and Team Anna member, Kiran Bedi. The Delhi High Court has ordered the police to so, on the basis of a complaint by a lawyer that she had misused donations by big corporates to her NGOs, India Vision Foundation and Navjyoti Foundation. Bedi, however, claimed she had “ample evidence and endurance” to deal with these false allegations. She said “I have sound evidence to show how we have run the project. I don’t have any problems in facing the police officers for interrogation . I will show them this evidence,” Now the Delhi Police is likely to examine Kiran Bedi very soon.

Cyrus Mistry, the younger son of Irish businessman Pallonji Mistry, will be the next chairman of Tata Group, Indian multinational conglomerate company. He has been appointed deputy chairman and chairman-designate of Tata Sons and he will work with Ratan Tata for one year and take over the full control in December 2012. Mistry graduated from the Imperial College, London with a BE in civil engineering and holds a master of science in management from the London Business School. He is also a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Today I am going to show you the real map of India. This is not the one which you found in your old geography and history books. But before this, I would like to give you some background. After getting the Independence from English rule, India and Pakistan fought their first war over Jammu and Kashmir in 1948. However due to intervention from United Nations, both agreed to a ceasefire. As a result of of this ceasefire, 1/3 of Kashmir went to Pakistan. After 1971 Indo-Pak war, under the terms of the Shimla agreement, the ceasefire line was renamed the Line of Control.
