Subramanian Swamy, one of the most dynamic leaders of Indian politics, shocked the whole country when he exposed the world’s biggest scam till date, the 2G Spectrum scam. Very few people know that how Dr. Swamy pulled cat out of the bag. Three years back, in November 2008, he wrote the first of five letters to PM Manmohan Singh seeking permission to prosecute A. Steve Jobs, the king of Silicon Valley who completely transformed the world of personal computing, music and mobile phones, died on Wednesday at the age of 56 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Steve co-founded Apple when he was just 21, and he turned it into one of the world’s greatest technological and innovation power house. Last month, with a market capitalization of about $346 billion, Apple briefly surpassed energy major Exxon Mobil to become the country’s most valuable company. He was suffering from a recurrence of the pancreatic cancer for which he had undergone surgery in 2004. This year on Aug. 24, he resigned as Apple’s CEO.

Now its Amazon’s turn to rock the tablet PC market. Yesterday, Amazon announced the launch of the Kindle Fire, a tablet computer version of company’s famous and successful Kindle e-book reader. The Kindle Fire will have a color 7" multi-touch display with IPS technology and run on a forked version of Google’s operating system (OS) Android. It includes access to the Amazon Appstore, streaming movies and TV shows, and Kindle’s e-books. It is scheduled to be released in mid-November 2011. The price of this device will be only US$199 (10,000 INR).

On November 3, 2003, the Prasar Bharati Corporation replaced DD Metro channel with their new news channel, DD News. One of the greatest Indian captains, a smart, dashing and debonair cricketer, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi passed away on Thursday. He was suffering from an acute lung infection. The infection was caused by chronic interstitial lung disease which prevented his lungs from exchanging oxygen properly. He was the ninth and last Nawab of Pataudi and son of son of Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi, eighth Nawab of Pataudi and his wife Sajida Sultan, second daughter of the last ruling nawab of Bhopal.
