VVS Laxman has once again showed his immense talent against Australia. He scored a fighting fifty in the second inning and played key role in India’s 1 wicket win in Mohali Test. Indeed, it was a senstational fightback. Laxman, despite being struggling with a back injury, showed immense maturity in second innings and scored unbeaten 73 runs. Raina was his runner. Chasing 216 to win, team India had made only 55 for four (after 17 overs) at stumps on day four. Sachin scored valuable 38 runs and completed his 1000 runs in the calendar year 2010, sixth time in his Test Cricket career.

4000 Engineers join SBI as clerks

What has happened to engineering graduates of India? It is very difficult for me to believe that engineering graduates are taking up clerical jobs. Then what is the use of four years course of engineering? So the breaking news is that over 3,800 graduate and 200 postgraduate engineers are set to join State Bank of India (SBI) in the clerical cadre. Last year SBI invited Indian candidates for over 27,000 posts in the clerical cadre. Around 3.8 million aspirants from across the nation applied for these jobs. Out of the 27000 selected candidates, 3,800 are graduate engineers, 200 are postgraduates in different branches of engineering. Ever SBI officials are surprised over such a response from engineers.

The disputed land has be to divided into three parts and to be distributed among the Sunni Waqf Board, Nirmohi Akhara and the party for ‘Ram Lalla’. One-third part of the disputed land should be given to the Sunni Waqf Board, one-third to the Nirmohi Akhara and one-third to the party for ‘Ram Lalla’. According to senior advocate and BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad, the high court had ruled that the place where the idol of Ram was kept was the birthplace of the deity and the idols should not removed.

Varun Gandhi, an Indian politician and son of the late Sanjay Gandhi and Maneka Gandhi will marry Yamini Roy, a Bengali girl. Currently he is MP of Pilibhit Lok Sabha constituency and BJP national secretary. He is 30 years old. Her mother Maneka Gandhi said in press conference “Varun will get married with Yamini, who hails from Bengal, in 2010 itself. India is the third most powerful Nation in the world

It is shockingly surprising news for me. An official United States report on global governance has declared that India is the third most powerful nation after the United States and China. The report (‘Global Governance 2025’) was issued jointly by the US National Intelligence Council (NIC) and the European Union’s Institute for Security Studies (EUISS). United States is the world’s most powerful country in 2010, accounting for nearly 22 per cent of the global power. It is followed by China (12 per cent), and India (eight per cent). Other powerful nations are Japan, Russia and Brazil with less than five per cent share of global power.

As expected, Asian economic powerhouses China and India dominated the list with having 32 companies in top 50. You would be surprised to know in 2005, when the list was first compiled, only five Chinese and three Indian companies came in the list. India and China have both 16 companies each on the list, followed by Hong Kong and Taiwan (4 each), South Korea (3), Australia and Japan (2 each) and Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand (1 each).

Facebook overtakes Orkut in India

FacebookAccording to the latest report by research firm comScore, Facebook has overtaken its competitors like Orkut and Yahoo in India to become the largest social networking site with more than 20 million visitors in July this year. Facebook registered a growth of 179 per cent whil Orkut is lagging behind at a growth rate of only 16 per cent. Currently, India is the seventh largest market worldwide for social networking, after the US, China, Germany, Russia, Brazil and the UK. The total Indian social networking audience grew 43 percent in the past year, more than tripling the rate of growth of the total Internet audience in India. India along with Brazil were the two markets that were dominated by Orkut when it came to social networking services.
