Bhopal Gas Tragedy was the worst industrial catastrophe in the Indian History. It occurred in 1984 at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. At the time of accident, UCIL was the Indian subsidiary of the U.S. company Union Carbide Corporation (UCC). UCC is now a subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company. At the midnight on December 3, 1984, there was a leak of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other toxins from the gas plant. This leakage affected around half million people. According to the official data, the immediate death toll was 2,259. However, the government of Madhya Pradesh confirmed a total of 3,787 deaths due to gas lekage. But other government and non-government agencies estimate more than 15,000 deaths.

From my point of view, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, KAKA, Steven Gerrard, Miroslav Klose and Wayne Rooney are the top players to watch out in Fifa World Cup Football 2010. I also know that this is not the right list of top players in the world of Football but still there is a high probability that any one from them comes out as the winner of Golden Boot Award. There are many other great players, in different positions, in different eras and styles of the game but, right now my list is only of six players. I will expand this list and add new players as the World Cup progresses. Now we have to wait only 48 hours for the World Cup Football to start. The result of AIEEE 2010 has been announced and it is now available on cbseresults.nic.in. Around 1 million engineering aspirants appeared in this test. Due to large number of students take AIEEE, it has become more competitive than IIT-JEE. AIEEE is organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India. It was first introduced in the year 2002. Every year CBSE conducts this examination for admission to various under-graduate engineering and architecture courses in institutes accepting the AIEEE score, including 20 prestigious National Institutes of Technology (NITs). And most of us, I suppose, occasionally play out our own deaths in line with some exciting script. “In a plane crash on Mount Kilimanjaro,” was Vonnegut’s answer. And if you think about it, there’s something evocative about that – a jet getting lost in the fog, smacking into the side of that big Tanzanian mountain. Is it the Kilimanjaro part, or the plane crash part? Or both? You’d be hard pressed to find people who think of airplane crashes as anything but the cold hard triumph of gravity over some hulking contraption, but frankly there’s a certain mystique to some of them. Not a morbid, bloody mystique, but something romantic.

Last week, I bought an Aviator sunglass. It is one of the most famous sunglasses developed by Ray-Ban. This sunglass was introduced in 1936, but at that time it was only available to fighter pilots. Two years later, it was released for public. The Ray-Ban Aviator became a well-known style of sunglasses when General Douglas MacArthur landed on the beach in the Philippines in World War II, wearing Aviator sunglass. Tom Cruise also made the Ray-Ban Aviator famous in the 1986 movie “Top Gun”. Aviator sunglasses are characterized by dark, often reflective lenses having an area two or three times the area of the eye socket, and metal frames with either paddles or wire temples which hook behind the ears. The Ray-Ban Aviator is also considered as one of the most copied styles in world history.

So after four years of long wait, the FIFA World Cup tournament is back in action. This year, it is going to be held in South Africa, between 11 June and 11 July 2010. World Cup Football fever has already gripped the whole world. In this tournament, world’s strongest football teams will compete against each for the title of World Champion in Football. A celebrated satirist and humour writer of modern Hindi literature Harishankar Parsai wrote some amazing stories, novels and memoirs. His satire was so humorous and yet so deep that even today when I read his work I feel nostalgic about the times he wrote and I live. Even today, there is ample scope of relating his work to our sophisticated so called modern life. I have almost all of his works in my personal library amassed over a period of time, thanks to the publishers. The story (Vaishnav ki Fislan) which I am presenting here is one of his acute criticism on the way capitalist operate their business. The way he exhibits the whole plot and then suddenly in the end the reader realises a bitter truth behind the whole idea of satire is simply wonderful.

The Bermuda Triangle has always been a strange and mysterious place in modern World History. This is located in the southern Atlantic Ocean. It is roughly the shape of a triangle. Many people claim that Bermuda Triangle sucks planes and boats into its dark and murky waters. But no one knows exactly what happened to those lost planes and boats in the region. News papers, TV channels and internet websites have attributed these disappearances to the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. That’s why it is also known as the Devil’s Triangle.
