Prahlad Jani :: A Man who has not eaten for 70 years

There is a man called Prahlad Jani, an 82-year-old Indian, who claims to have eaten not a single grain of rice or consumed a drop of water for the past 70 years and still is healthy and alive. This breaking news has surprised doctors all over the world who have found that the monk’s body is performing absolutely well on different medical tests even at this age which is not usually observed in a normal person taking regular diet. To find out the reality, a team of around thirty doctors conducted several tests on Prahlad Jani for 15 days, last month. After the test all reports of medical tests were normal.

Ajmal Kasab :: Death Sentence or Life Imprisonment?

Now a day, Ajmal Kasab has become a hot topic of disucssion in Indian Subcontinent. He is a Pakistani Muslim terrorist who was involved in the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He is the only terrorist captured alive by police and is currently in Indian custody. A day before yesterday, the Indian court convicted him of murder, waging war on India, possessing explosives, and other charges. Ajmal Amir was caught at Girgaum Chowpatty Naka in Mumbai trying to escape in a car. Now we all are interested in the court’s decision which is coming tomorrow. Actually the whole world saw his crime on many snaps and TV footages. Unfortunately it took the Indian Judicial system nearly 2 years to prove that Kasab is guilty.

Today is World Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated throughout the world to generate awareness among the people about the planet earth. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in held on April 22, 1970. This date marked the beginning of the modern environmental movement. More than 20 million Americans participated in the campaign. Thousands of colleges and universities organized protests against the deterioration of the environment. What is Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna Campaign?

Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna is a project for saving the Yamuna river in Delhi-NCR region. It was started by The Art of Living foundation. The Art of Living Foundation is one of the world’s largest volunteer based, humanitarian and educational Non-Governmental Organizations, founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar with the vision of creating a stress-free, violence-free society. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar asked all the citizens to come together and raise awareness and alert the government. Many multinational companies including Microsoft, Educomp and Kent RO have become its partners. The UNESCO, World Bank, JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) etc. are also supporting the campaign.

Shashi Tharoor resigns as External Affairs Minister of State

It’s all over for Shashi Tharoor. At last, the minister of state for external affairs has resigned from his post. Mr. Tharoor submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The Prime Minister has forwarded his resignation letter to President Pratibha Patil. According to senior Congress leaders, Tharoor had become an embarrassment for the party and the Indian Government as he was unable to provide suitable explanation of his alleged role in the latest Kochi Indian Premier League controversy. His stint of less than a year as a Union Minister was dogged by a spate of controversies like stay in five star hotels, cattle class remark and the recent IPL controversy.
