Indian telecom giant Tata Indicom has announced launch of new, stylish Walky Talky cordless phones. There will be different post paid and pre-paid plans for its fixed wireless phone connection. The price of set will be only 1299 rupees. The set is based on WLL technology with CDMA back-end and can be used anywhere in the city in which the connection has been taken and hence it also offers limited mobility to the user within that city itself. In large cities, each connection has an eight digit phone number and in smaller places it has a seven digit number as opposed to the ten digits for a mobile connection. With this launch, Tata Indicom is expecting rise in its market share in telecom sector. Indicom services are spread across nineteen circles in the country, and the company has a subscriber base of 3.8 million in India.

Do you know about “one night at call center” ? No, then let me tell you, it is an English novel written by Chetan Bhagat. Chetan Bhagat is an IIT graduate, working in Goldman Sachs. This is his second novel after “5 point someone”. He is regarded as the best selling Indian novelist of modern times. The story of “one night at call center” revolves around a group of six call center employees working in Connexions call center in Gurgaon and are striving to seek a better life.  The novel is full of drama with pleasant and unpleasant things happening to all the 6 leading characters. Ultimately, they get a phone call from God which changes their life. You will find in this novel many aspects of modern life in India like anger of lost love, thwarted ambitions, lack of family affection, pressures of a family, and the work environment in a call center. It is a very interesting tale of Urban India nights and believe me once you start this novel, you will definitely complete it in single sitting.

Actually “Hello” is the name of the coming Bollywood movie based on this novel. So “Hello” is based on the events that happen one night at a call center. Shyam, the main character of the movie or novel is a call center employee. He is on the verge of losing his girl friend, Priyanka, who is going to marry an NRI working in Dell. Another character Esha, who is hoping for the break as a model. Radhika, who is a housewife is not happy with her family life. Military Uncle has been barred from meeting his grandchild. Bakshi is the big boss, the manager of the company. Suddenly there is twist in the story when these call center workers receive a call from God. Cut Chemist is the performing name of Lucas MacFadden, a solo turntablist. He is a former member of the funk Latin band Ozomatli, and of hip hop group Jurassic 5. But something amazing happens as a result she is forced to choose between fact, fiction or something that is midway between the two.

On the YouTube video the story is shown with the help of cartoon characters. Since the video was in Spanish so I am not sure whether it was telling the same story or not.

According to the Forbes magazine, the 27-storey skyscraper being built in Mumbai by Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani in India will be the world’s largest and costliest home. Its price would be around 2 billion dollars. Its construction is likely to be finished in January 2009. It will be 550 feet high with 4,00,000 square feet of interior space. 70 million dollar triplex penthouse at the Pierre Hotel in New York is the next costliest home in the world. For this huge project, Mukesh Ambani is taking the services of architecture firms like Perkins Will and Hirsch Bedner Associates. At present Mukesh, along with his wife Nita Ambani and three children, currently live in Mumbai tower.

The name of their new home will be Antilla and its interior would have Indian look and feel. Ambani family is planning to use this new residence occasionally for corporate entertainment also. This home will have a floor for a home theatre, a glass-fronted apartment for guests, and a two-storey health club.

Forbes magazine has released a list of Top ten most wanted Criminals (fugitives). In this list, India’s most wanted criminal or DON Dawood Ibrahim is at rank four. He is now a global terrorist. According to the magazine, Dawood is hiding somewhere in Pakistan. He has close links with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI). He is also suspected to be associated with Al – Qaeda. The list is headed by Al – Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. Osama is also believed to be hiding in Pakistan’s Waziristan region.

Other famous criminals in this list are Joaquin Guzman. Mexico’s most powerful drug trafficker, Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov, the face of the modern Russian mob, Felicien Kabuga, the driving force behind the Rwanda genocides; and Matteo Messina Denaro, the Italian mafia’s playboy. According to Forbes, everyone on the list has been criminally charged, some of them are by national jurisdictions and some by international tribunals. They all have big history of committing serious inhuman crimes and are considered a dangerous menace to the society.
